Popular feeling about refugees is starting to break free from the effects of cynical political fearmongering, especially because of concerns for the hundreds of men, women and children kept in Australian detention camps offshore, with no hope for a future.
Let’s make 2019 a big year for change. Enough is enough. All refugees off Manus and Nauru.
Stand Up for Refugees: There is a Better Way

Canberrans turned out in large numbers on Sunday to the rally organised by the Refugee Action Committee.
Vintage Reds members joined a meeting of Unionists for Refugees on the 18th September to discuss the big rally planned for 11 October 2015 in Garema Place.
The Refugee Action Committee is urging union groups as well as other community, faith, political and student groups to join them in demanding an end to our government’s cruelty towards asylum seekers and refugees.
